Taos Pueblo

Taos Pueblo, NM, February–early March 1939

Written sources are either absent or imprecise about the time frame in which the visit to locations in America’s southwest occurred. With regard to Santa Fe it is a matter of counting back from two known dates: March 15, 1939, when Ross lectured in San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club on ‘Die “Westliche Hemisphäre”’, and March 17, 1939, when he and his family sailed from San Francisco for Japan.1
