The Rosses encountered cactus overgrowth and the Henderson brothers in Queensland, between Dalby and Yuleba. This places the sequence on the trip from Sydney to Cairns. This second part of his Australian journey lasted from early August, when Ross left Sydney, until early November 1929, when he embarked in Cairns for Port Moresby (Territory of Papua), to arrive on November 4, 1929.
